MEET MARISSA
HI, I’m Marissa. Yes! If you are wondering, this is me on my wedding day, when I married my absolute best friend, college sweetheart, and partner for life. Like many of you, I found love and I wanted it to be captured in every way possible. To me, a photograph is truly worth a million words. Without a camera, those precious memories of ours tend to fade away over time. Although I will never experience those moments from my wedding day again- walking down the aisle, seeing my handsome groom crying on the other end, dancing like there’s no tomorrow, etc. - they will always remain visible through the beauty of a photograph.
I’m sharing my story because I know what it’s like to fall in love and want nothing more than to hold onto the beautiful memories created with that special someone forever. Through my camera lens, that will always be my oriented goal of every photoshoot I am lucky enough to be a part of. To give my clients a personal gallery of every detail and special moment- whether laughs or tears- that will help them to relive the moments that cannot be reproduced. Through every photograph taken, my hope is that clients will sense that nostalgic feeling of what it is like to fall in love, over and over again with their significant other!
“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
― Karl Lagerfeld

I am also a teacher!
I have a lot of passions, and besides from photography, teaching is definitely one of them. I absolutely LOVE working with children. In fact, I spent majority of my life around kids, whether at camps, while babysitting, in clubs, while tutoring, and, of course, in schools. I grew up walking around in my mother’s heels, forcing my sister to “play school” with me. The best part about being a teacher is seeing the progress that my students make from the second they walk into my classroom. It’s almost as rewarding as sharing a lifetime of unique and significant moments on film with my clients.

I married my college sweetheart!
Both SUNY Cortland alumni, Chipotle lovers, beach obsessors, shopaholics, dancing stars, ambitious athletes, class clowns, and the list could go on and on. I married my other half & had the most perfect wedding together that we will never forget. I wish we could do it all over again! The only thing better than being in love is having it captured through the lens of a camera! Now enough with me…what’s your love story?!

I am a HUGE dog lover.
Not only do I love puppies, but I adopt them too! I can thank my family for this, as I grew up in a household where every dog of ours was adopted from an animal shelter. There is something so special about saving a dog’s life and giving it a home and family that it deserves. The beautiful Australian Shepard puppy in this photo above happens to be one of these dogs that we have adopted. Teddi, her name is. She is the most smart, loving, and cuddly animal I know. A girl’s best friend for sure. My goal is to keep this tradition of adoption for years to come!

I always come prepared!
No matter what shoot I am a part of, I ALWAYS have more than enough equipment and props with me to ensure that every photoshoot runs smoothly. I carry two cameras with me and three prime lenses at all times to capture different angles and focal lengths. I pretty much have extra everything…because you never know :)
